Blackjack is a card game commonly known as Twenty One. It is played with decks of cards, one or more, and the main intention of the game is to win the dealer by achieving a hand value of either 21 or of less than 21 but more than the sum of what the dealer has in hand or by letting the dealer pick up cards until he surpasses his total of 21.
Players Versus The Dealer
In a casino, a Blackjack table is the shape of a semicircle. In the circular part there is space for 7 players and opposite them is where the dealer will be standing. Players are each given two cards, including the dealer. The Jack, Queen and King are known as Face cards and are all worth ten points. Aces are either the equivalent of one or eleven points and the card values are summed to give the result of what you hold in hand. Additional cards can be drawn to improve the value of the cards already in hand as long as you do not go over 21.
How Blackjack Is Played
In blackjack, players only have one turn to play their hand. In this turn they can make one of the following decisions. These are called Hit: meaning to pick up another card given by the dealer. As long as their hand is below 21 points a player can pick up as many times as necessary. If the player requests a card that takes him over 21, the dealer then has to revoke the cards from the losing player and collect their bets. Stand: popularly known as stick or stay, and means that they do not want to pick up any more cards. Double: the choice to double their bet. This can only be doubled at the start of the game straight after the first cards have been dealt. Doubling the bet means placing another bet but it has to be of the same value as the first one.
When a player doubles their bet he will only be dealt one more card. In some casinos you are able to double with any score, however, in others they only allow double when the first hand dealt adds up to 9, 10 or 11. Split: The first two cards that you are dealt should be counted and if they are of the same value, they can be split into two hands. This split of cards should then be moved into a dedicated area which is set outside the betting box. The last option is to surrender. This means that you want to terminate your game.
Is It Easy To Win Blackjack
Blackjack remains one of the only casino games (aswell as poker) where the player can achieve the lead and win the game in the long run. It is not easy to get to this stage and will take some practice but you will not lose a lot of money even after playing for a long time and this is if you only stick to the basic game strategy and just follow the simple game rules.
